The Essential Festival Camping Checklist

The Essential Festival Camping Checklist

We’re firmly in the middle of festival season, and if you’ve got any camping plans coming up, we’ve put together a list of the top 10 essentials - so you’ve got no excuses to forget your tent!

Let’s get started.

 A tent, obviously!

Now, don’t be one of those people who rocks up to a 3-day festival with nothing to sleep on apart from dirty washing.

We’d recommend bringing something lightweight, and easy to set up and take down (especially after more than a few beers).

If you haven’t got one already, the Snugpak® Scorpion 2 IX™ is a sleek angled compact two-person tent that’s perfect for a quick set-up, with space to keep your stuff - and keeps out bugs and condensation, for good measure.

A sleeping bag

Don’t be fooled by the warm weather - festivals can get exceptionally cold at night.

Make sure you’ve got something to wrap up warm in, and preferably that won’t weigh down your backpack.

Our Softie® 6 is cosy, comfortable, and you’ll get the best night’s sleep of anyone camping.

A torch

Yes, it’s true, most people at a festival would probably use their phone torch. But, batteries run out, and it’s darker than you think when you’re tripping over tent pegs. Grab a good-quality torch, and you won’t have to worry about getting lost.

A folding chair

This is one of those items that seems inessential, but it’s one you’ll really regret not bringing with you. Festivals are tiring, and you won’t want to spend all your time in your tent, especially when it’s hot. Don’t make that mistake - bring a good seat.

Earplugs

Hopefully, you’re going to a festival because you enjoy the music. But, there’ll be a time when you don’t want to hear it, and that time will probably be 4am when you haven’t slept properly all weekend.

Get a good night’s kip, and block out the noise with some earplugs. Cheap ones will still do the trick.

Bin bags

Don’t be someone who leaves their mess at the festival. Clear up after yourself, and bring a roll of bin bags.

A waterproof jacket

It goes without saying, but if you’re going to a festival in the UK, it’ll definitely rain at some point. Keep yourself dry, and don’t forget your waterproof.

The Snugpak® Enhanced Patrol Poncho is perfect for any unexpected downpour, providing 100% waterproof cover. It’s super lightweight, too.

Wellies

Again, it will most likely rain. And when there’s rain, there’s mud. Don’t lose your trainers - bring a sensible pair of welly boots.

A wash bag

Well, you’re definitely not going to smell your best! Throw a wash bag together, with dry shampoo, suncream, and wet wipes to keep yourself as clean as possible. Mostly for the crowd’s benefit, this one.

Our Essential Wash Bag is perfect for festivals - it hangs up, and it’s even got a detachable mirror. And, if you want a little more from your wash bag, our Luxury Wash Bag is bigger, and with a handy wet storage compartment. What more could you wish for?

Make sure you include a towel in your washbag, too. If you can't get to a shower, it'll dry you off after getting caught in the rain. Our Head to Toe Towel is soft, fast-drying, lightweight, and keeps out nasty bacteria. It'll fit perfectly in your new washbag!

Loo roll

We’ve left probably the most essential item until last - loo roll. Whether you’re a wild wee-er or prefer to plump for a festival stall, there will absolutely be a time at the festival when you’re caught short. Best to bring your own. And even better not to share.

With these all checked off, you’ll be ready to go! We hope you have the best time at whichever festival you’re going to. And, if you’re bringing any Snugpak products with you, make sure to send us a pic!
